Use this search to find deeds linked to a person or company such as a Power of Attorney or a deed for an Old System property. This search is only applicable to deeds registered with NSW Land Registry Services since January 1987.
ViewThis Deed Search can be used to locate title deeds for properties which have not yet been converted to the Torrens Title system of land registration. The Torrens Title system was adopted in 1863 and now covers nearly all properties in NSW. However, some properties are still in the Old System.
For properties still in the Old System, it is necessary to conduct an extensive search to confirm the proper transfer of ownership from prior owners and to form a complete picture of all matters affecting the title. Unlike Old System Title, a benefit of the Torrens Title system is that the state of NSW guarantees titles that are registered in that system.
Any person dealing with land must check that there is no current Power of Attorney in existence. Verify the identity of a person claiming a right to deal with land.
